Row 26, Plots 15 & 16, McDANIEL, Clyde R. Sr., & Jimmie L. (Appling)


Mr. Clyde Ross McDaniel, Sr. 76, of the Double Wells community, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 17, 2013.  He was born August 4, 1936, in Sulphur Springs, he was a son of Bessie Murdock McDaniel and the late J.D. McDaniel.  

Once dubbed as the "Mayor" of Sulphur Springs, Mr. McDaniel was a life-time member and deacon of the Double Wells Assembly of God.  

A 1953 graduate of Watson Chapel High School, he married the former Miss Jimmie Appling on August 10, 1957.

Clyde was employed by Hendrix Trim Shop before going into business for himself.    He worked alongside his wife for the next 50 years as owner/operator of McDaniel Auto Trim Shop and Used Cars since July of 1962, and retired from the car dealership in 2006.  

Summers were covered with school bus seat repairs, time was precious, neglecting his own birthday if there was work to be done.  

He was a former president of the Lee Cemetery Association.  

His life was consumed with family, work, his rental property, cattle auctions, and Bud Robinson's Auctions.  Family dinner time was known to be one of Clyde's favorites.  Fellowship and food whether at home or church was a special time for him.  

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a grandson, Jeffrey Smith, Jr. and two brothers, Jake and Troy McDaniel.  

He is survived by his mother, Bessie McDaniel; his loving wife of 55 years, Jimmie Appling McDaniel; daughters, Clydine Davis (Martin), Nadine Blake (Randy), Ava Darlene McAllister (Mark,; son, Clyde McDaniel, Jr. (Tenecia); sisters, Emma Della Lawrence (Ivan), Deloris Lawrence (Jerry); a sister-in-law, Nita McDaniel; 13 grandchildren, Ross, Lee, Micah, Josh, Trevor, Carson, Landon, Mackenzie, Kamdon, Blakeley, Clayton, Joshua and Zachery; 12 great-grandchildren, Destiny, Ross, Jr., River, Madison Ava, Weston, Hayden, Katie, Brooklynn, Lily, Rynn, Michael and Gabriel; long-time family friend, Roy "Cowboy" McCann; and many, many, other loving family and friends.  

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, at Fuller Hale-South Funeral chapel with Pastor Mike Cottrell officiating.  Burial will follow in Clement Cemetery at Grapevine.

Pallbearers will be: Randy Blake, Martin Davis, Mark McAllister, Ross Bateman, Lee Bateman, Cody Malone, Josh Bunting, Trevor McDaniel, Mark Raddle, James V. Appling, John Vailes, Carson Alexander, Landon McDaniel, and Kamdon McDaniel.
