Billy died at the age of 73 at JRMC.  he was the son of William Macy and Freda E. Edmunds Slaughter.  He was a 1942 graduate of Pine Bluff High School.  He was a general mechanic for International Paper Co before retiring in 1981.  He was a Baptist and a member of Pine Buff Masonic Lodge #69 and the Plumber and Steam Fitters Local #665.  

He was married to Janie Mae Woodfield Slaughter on Jan. 30, 1943.  They had three sons William E. Jr., Robert L. and James E. Slaughter and two daughters Patricia Ann Slaughter Bull and Sue Slaughter Plunkett.  They also had an infant daughter listed below. Janie Mae was the daughter of Luther E and Cyrena Clement Woodfield.
