Row 7, Plots 12 & 13, WAFFORD, Oscar & Mary

Oscar 81, was born at Grapevine and spent his life there.  He was the son of John Henry C. and Louise Josephine Ratliff Wafford.  (John Henry is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery & Louise is buried in Mayberry Cemetery which is located South of Killing House Rd).

Oscar died at JRMC.  He was a member of Shady Grove Cumberland Presbterian Church and a retired farmer.  

Funeral services were held at First Cumberland Presbyterian Chuch at Pine bluff with Ralph Robinson and son Funeral home officiating.  Ministers were Rev. Dale Gentry, Hillmon Moore and Thomas J. Nation.

Mary died at Pine Bluff Nursing Home.  She was born at Lamont, Grant County the daughter of Handy L. and Sarah Elizabeth "Betsy" Waddle Reed.   Her parents died  about 4 months apart.  She and her sisters, Margaret, Susan, Virginia, and Lucinda were raised by their Aunt Margaret Reed Lowe and Uncle James Andrew Lowe.  

Mary attended school at Lamont and was a member of Pine bluff First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Funeral services by Robinsons with Rev. Dale Gentry and J.H. Hegwood.

Oscar and Mary were preceded in death by one son Cecil Wafford.  They were survived by one son, Hermon Wafford and one daughter, Veulah Waffod Woodfield.
